Afternoon all,

Does anyone know of a supplier of empty 2 litre plastic bottles suitable for making bottle traps for GCN surveys? I'd rather not buy full bottles of soft drinks if it can be avoided as I need a couple of hundred!

I know such suppliers must exist, just struggling to find one!

But none of these look suitable, as the necks of the bottles are too wide. Anyone else got any ideas? Google throws up plenty of unsuitable bottle suppliers, but the cheap coke type bottle seems elusive!

Try your local council recycling depot, maybe they can help you

Hi Paul

        Personally I would not use bottles from a recycling plant as you could end up using bottles that have had chemicals stored in them for example (Turps) imagine the risks to both amphibians and the pond environment ! I would much rarther buy cheap lemonade or water in order to get your bottles .
